This is the era of biology, and at this moment in time, structural biology is manifest in the international structural genomics initiatives (ISGI) under way worldwide. With protein structures at center stage comes the need for further structure characterization, more informed decisions about which new structures to determine, and the need for new tools to associate structure with function. SPAM is working to meet this need.

The SPAM project is supported by the National Institutes of Heath (NIH) grant number GM63208 and is located within the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), the Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) and the Burnham Institute (TBI).
