About SDSC
The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) is an organized research unit of UCSD and the leading-edge site of the National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure (NPACI). SDSC's mission is to develop and use technology to advance science, and SDSC provides leadership both nationally and internationally in computing, data management, biosciences, and other areas. As a national laboratory for computational science and engineering, SDSC is funded by the National Science Foundation through NPACI and other federal agencies, the State and University of California, and private organizations.

About the Burnham Institute
The Burnham Institute, founded in 1976, is an independent, nonprofit, public benefit organization dedicated to basic biomedical research. Since 1981, the Institute has earned designation from the National Cancer Institute as a basic-science Cancer Center. In 1999, the Institute established the Del E. Webb Center dedicated to research on neurodegenerative diseases and aging. The Burnham Institute is ranked consistently among the world's most influential research organizations for the impact of its research in analyses published annually by Philadelphia's Institute for Scientific Information.

About the KGI
The newest member of the prestigious consortium of Claremont Colleges, Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences was founded in 1997 with a $50 million challenge grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation. Located in Claremont, California, it is the first American graduate school dedicated exclusively to the applied life sciences. KGI's mission is to pursue educational programs and research aimed at translating into practice, for the benefit of humanity, the power and potential of the life sciences. Currently, the institute offers a master of bioscience degree based on an interdisciplinary curriculum featuring technical, scientific, management and ethics coursework. KGI's first class matriculated in 2000, and will graduate in spring 2002. In the fall of 2003, KGI will be instituting a PhD program in the applied life sciences.

 

The SPAM project is supported by the National Institutes of Heath (NIH) grant number GM63208 and is located within the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), the Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) and the Burnham Institute (TBI).
